Rêver

LUXURY PERFUME

bACKGROUND

Rêver is a fictional, luxury fragrance brand based in France. The word Rêver is french for dreams. This name is used to envoke feelings of sophistication, and class. This project is for the “Ethereal” fragrance line, with scents Blossom, Serene, and Seafoam. I designed the logo and brand identity as well as 3D modeled the product and packaging.

Challenge

The challenge of this project was to communicate Luxury and elegance. This ethereal collection of perfumes needed to feel sophisticated and out of this world.

Logo Mark

I used very minimal design and wide-set text to convey the exclusivity of this brand. The amount of white space used added to this expression of sophistication. I gained inspiration from other luxury brands such as Chanel and Dior

Color + Typography

I chose neutral and minimal colors for this project to emphasize the minimalism of this luxury product. The colors that are used create a gradient that mimics the metal finishing of the packaging. The wide typography is also commonly used in sophisticated designs.

Packaging

The packaging was one of the most in-depth processes of this whole project. I not only designed the labels and box art (seen below) I also design the entire bottle form and box structure (right). I wanted the bottle design to be classic and simple. The laser-cut foam inside the box has a cavity that fits the perfume perfectly, with another layer of foam on the lid for protection. The box is made from thick high-quality cardboard, where the edges glue to each other. The lid slides elegantly into place with a perfect fit. The box was inspired by the packaging of high-end smartphone packaging.

3D mOdeling

I used a blender to create these 3D models of the perfume bottle and the box packaging. I did this so I could have more versatile and custom product shots than a premade mockup. This method also allows for the perfume bottle and box to be my custom design. The bottle was the more complicated model of the two, with more pieces and curves. As you can see below I show the process of wireframing geometry, to solidifying materials, and finally lighting design.

Commercial

This commercial is meant to feel impactful and dramatic. It was animated in Blender and edited in Premier Pro. The music was licensed by Epidemic Sound. I cut the music and video together to create the full effect. This commercial is meant to promote the launch of the Ethereal Collection by Rêver.
