bACKGROUND

Moonlight Cafe is a Coffee shop with its own unique line of coffee sold in the cafe as well as local stores. They sell a wide variety of brews from the light “Starlight roast” to “Midnight Black”. They have a witty promise of 100% Lunar Coffee. This shows the brands creative, and hipster nature. The target audience ranges from students to 30 somethings in the workforce. Moonlight Cafe is a calming escape from everyday life. Coffee is freshly ground and packaged in store.

Coffee

The challenge of this project was to create a logo design as well as unique packaging. The logo needed to express both ideas of the moon and coffee. It also needed to apeal to the target audience of young working people, and give a calming feeling.

Color + Typography

The typography is industrial and modern. It makes the viewer feel like this coffee is the best thing to get things done. The colors both represent the product and the theme. The subtle and light colors feel peaceful and spacious.

Logo Mark

I used the design of a coffee cup around a moon in both the logo and advertisement design. I used dark colors as well as a coffee cream color to emphasize these ideas.

Advertising

The packaging is one of the most important pieces of the brand. It showcases the subtle colors and ties the theme together with use of stars. The roast level is shown with a half-moon design.

Advertising

This flyer is an advertisement for the grand opening of the new cafe. It promotes an opening sale to intense potential customers. The design is a detailed play on the logo.
